About Access Media Group

The company was formed in 1997 by Tom Meinert, Ron Walker and Bill Capuzzi, former principals of Viscom Publications. Established in 1985, Viscom published trade and professional magazines Eyecare Business, Optometric Management and Contact Lens Spectrum — now part of PentaVision.

Access Media's first media property, OptiStock, broke new ground by delivering market intelligence about publicly traded eye care companies to retail and institutional investors. A print version, titled Investments in Sight, ran as a special section of Forbes magazine. OptiStock is now owned by Jobson Healthcare Information.

13+ Years of Focus on Consumer Education

Today, Access Media's primary business is providing consumers with eye health information, through its own media properties and through print and electronic work for clients.

In 1999, Access Media established what would become its primary business unit — All About Vision®, a website providing eye health and vision correction information to consumers.

All About Vision has become the leading source of consumer-directed vision information on the Internet, covering popular topics such as eyeglasses, LASIK, contact lenses, and eye diseases.

Ceatus Media: Diversification Beyond Vision

In 2004, Access Media co-founded Ceatus Media Group, an electronic media company focused on development of consumer health information portals and doctor directories. Ceatus launched Consumer Guide to Plastic Surgery® in January 2006, Consumer Guide to Dentistry® in April 2007, and Consumer Guide to Bariatric Surgery® in May 2007. The combined companies now employ almost 40 full-time staff and serve more than 25 million unique visitors annually. Ceatus and Access Media also have an extensive network of regular freelancers, including accomplished journalists and developers who apply their decades of experience to advance the companies' leadership in online media.

September 1999	Company announces startup of All About Vision and relocates to Fort Washington, Pa.
January 2000	All About Vision launches.
August 2001	Jobson Publishing purchases minority equity stake in Access Media; company relocates to Jobson offices in Newtown Square, Pa.
June 2004	All About Vision serves 10,000,000th visitor.
August 2004	Joint venture formed with David Evans, PhD to develop health content portals.
May 2005	Access Media sells OptiStock to Jobson and repurchases Jobson's equity interest.
January 2006	Company moves to La Jolla, California. Consumer Guide to Plastic Surgery launches.
April 2007	Consumer Guide to Dentistry launches.
May 2007	Consumer Guide to Bariatric Surgery spun off from plastic surgery portal.
September 2007	Company assumes operation of RefractiveSource.com.
May 2008	Ceatus Media Group acquires LasikSurgeryNews.com.
June 2008	EyeMDLink.com acquired and folded into AllAboutVision.com.
July 2008	All About Vision serves 40,000,000th visitor.
August 2008	Company moves to expanded offices in Pacific Beach, San Diego.
January 2009	Cataract Surgeon Directory launches.
January 2010	Ceatus acquires the web assets of My Choice Medical Holdings from Vertrue, Inc.
May 2010	Re-launch of BreastImplants4You.com.
September 2010	Launch of All About Facial Rejuvenation.
November 2011	All About Vision serves 75,000,000th visitor.
May 2012	Mobile version of All About Vision launches; AAV-branded waiting area magazine debuts in partnership with First Vision Media.
February 2013	All About Vision serves 100 millionth visitor.
